Soulspec is our antidote to toxic modernity.
If you’re like us, you have a vision of a life that you’re not quite living yet but that doesn’t feel out of reach. Soulspec to us stands for everything you do in your day to day life that pushes you towards that “little place”. We believe that when you begin curating your day to day life, the things you interact with and what you feed your senses, something begins to guide you towards that vision your brain can’t stop conjouring.
For us, that “little place” is a old red brick barn nestled in the English countryside. It’s orange sunlight bleeding through the windows and flooding over classic cars. It’s living slow, quietly but with purpose. It’s spending a Sunday fixing an old motorbike and then taking it straight to the pub. It’s clothes that last long enough that they bring back memories everytime they’re worn. It’s objects that spark joy purely with their form.
Modernity just doesn’t sit well with us, especially when it comes to the vehicles we use in our lives. Cars are getting bigger, heavier, more complicated, soulless and expensive. The items we buy seem to be getting worse quality year on year. Restrictions on driving enthusiasm seem to grow by the second. This is why now, more than ever, we believe it’s important to carefully curate your life to brush away anything that doesn’t please you.

Soulspec was created by Matthew Dereve in 2023 and has slowly been finding it’s voice. When not working, Matthew can be found in a barn tinkering with his 1968 Alfa 1300 Gt Junior, out on the trails on an old Africa Twin or staring solemnly at the rust developing on the lower sills of his 1988 Porsche 944. Genuinely, there’s a 9 in 10 chance I’ll be doing one of those things.
